Want to Showcase Your Work Online? Here's How You Can Easily Create and Host a Web Portfolio for Free on Wix!

Hey there! Ready to take your creative journey to the next level by showcasing your work online? Creating a web portfolio is an excellent way to gather all your projects in one place for potential clients, customers, or simply for your personal satisfaction. And the best part? You can do it all for free on Wix! Let's dive into the steps to get you started on your web portfolio journey.


Getting Started


1. Sign Up for Wix

  • Go to Wix.com.

  • Click on "Get Started" or "Sign Up".

  • Create an account using your email, Google, or Facebook.


2. Choose a Template

  • Once you're logged in, click "Create New Site".

  • Wix will ask you what kind of website you want to create. Choose Portfolio & CV or any other option that fits your needs.

  • You can either let Wix's ADi (Artificial Design Intelligence) create a website for you (by answering a few questions) or select a template and customize it yourself. (I would reccoment you try the ADi first. The red arrow in the image)

















3. Customize Your Template

  • In the Wix editor, you'll see a sample website. Click on any part (text, images, etc.) to change it.

  • To add more sections (like "About Me", "Projects", or "Contact"), click on "Add" on the left panel and choose what you want (text, images, galleries, etc.).

  • You can drag and drop items to arrange them however you like.



4. Add Your Content

  • Upload your images, documents, and write your bio, skills, and portfolio projects.

  • If you have links to your work (e.g., design work, writing, etc.), you can add buttons or links to showcase them.

(Explore with all the buttons and options there that you can access).


5. Preview Your Site

  • Once you've added all your content, click on the "Preview" button at the top to see how your site will look to visitors. (The eye beside the publish button).

  • If everything looks good, you can move on to publishing.


6. Publish Your Site

  • When you're happy with your portfolio, click "Publish".

  • Wix will ask you to choose a free Wix domain (something like: yourusername.wixsite.com/yourportfolio).

  • Select your free domain and confirm the settings.



7. Your Portfolio is Live!

  • Your portfolio is now live on the web. You can share the link with others.

  • Wix hosts the site for free, but it will include Wix ads on the free plan. You can upgrade to remove ads if needed.

That's it! You now have a free, hosted web portfolio on Wix.
